A detailed planning consent has been granted for a detached dwelling of exceptional quality and design. The architects have designed and delivered a series of award-winning and high-quality energy efficient homes, this cotemporary dwelling is their most recent design. This single storey contemporary dwelling is large with a gross internal area of approximately 6100sq.ft. The dwelling is a pin-wheel design with four blocks accessed off a central core. There is an entrance hall, entrance lobby, living room, study, dining room, pantry, plant room, kitchen, laundry room, cloakroom, and WC. There are six bedrooms, two en-suites and three bathrooms. Outside there is a car-port and further parking for 3 cars. The landscaped gardens will sit in approximately one acre of land, with the built form of the dwelling nestled into the gentle slope with uninterrupted south-facing countryside views and a woodland backdrop. There are additional acres of land available by separate negotiation. The dwelling is of timber frame construction with external finishes of wood and brick. Renewable energy sources lead to a zero carbon- emission building. The dwelling has hidden accessible design features in the building and the garden which allows a disabled person to move freely within their environment. Strong walls and ceilings are part of the fabric of the building for future adaptations if necessary. The garden will have a level gradient with even and smooth paths.
The Site
The plot has a gentle slope from north to east and is approximately one acre. Further acres are available. The site is clear and is laid to grass with mature trees and hedging to the boundaries and with open-countryside views. Numerous reports have been completed including an Arboricultural Impact Assessment, Tree Survey, F.R.A., Ecological Impact Assessment and Landscape and Visual lmpact Report. The Decision Notice requires a trench evaluation for potential archaeological deposits, and this is being undertaken by the current owner. The plot has an existing access but there is a need for a new access to the south-east corner of the site, with the current access to be blocked up once this is in place.
