Summary
A detailed planning consent has been granted for a pair of semi-detached houses with on-site parking and gardens. The properties would suit first-time buyers or could be used as rental properties. The houses have a hallway, kitchen / diner, lounge, and storage space on the ground floor. The first floor has a landing, bedroom, and bathroom. The gross internal area of each property is approximately 625sq.ft. The new houses will have red face brick, white render and white UPVC windows and doors. The roof will have grey concrete tiles and solar panels could be installed. There will be a good level of light into the houses at all times of the day. Parking space will be provided to the front of each house with gardens to the rear of each house and to the side of one of the houses. Local shops are within a third of a mile and schools are also nearby. The town centre is approximately 1.5 miles from the plot.
The Site
The plot is approximately 500sq.m. The existing access from the road will need to be widened with a new drop kerb to accommodate the parking area. There is a metal garage and timber shed on site which we are advised will be moved by the current owner.
The Area
Chatham is a lively market town in North Kent with a population of around 76,000 residents. The town is popular with commuters to London, with regular train services to London Victoria in around 40 minutes, also services to Charing Cross and St. Pancras International. Access to the A2 / M2 can be reached in around 6 minutes. The town has a pedestrianised High Street, the main shopping centres being The Pentagon shopping centre, with household national chains, and the Dockside outlet centre. Supermarkets include Sainsbury’s and a 24- hour Asda Superstore. The museum includes the submarine HMS Ocelot, reflecting the maritime history of the town and which still offers a marina and yacht moorings. Notable buildings include the Grade 11 Listed Chatham town hall, now the Brook Theatre. The town is well served by good schools. The local primary school is rated as Good by Ofsted. Bradfield Academy is rated as Outstanding. Independent education is available at Rochester Independent College.
Services
The plot has access to all main services including gas. There is an end of run manhole to the rear of the plot for mains drainage. We would advise interested parties to make their own enquiries with regard to services prior to exchange of contracts.
Viewing
The plot can be viewed only by appointment through The Land Bank Partnership. Please let us know the time and date of your visit so that we can advise the owner.
