Summary
A detailed planning consent has been granted for a detached two bedroom bungalow of approximately 830sq.ft, which will be located in a quiet cul-de-sac in a village location. The plans indicate a hall, kitchen and dining area, lounge, bathroom and two bedrooms. Patio doors lead onto a rear garden of some 63sq.m, while there are two parking spaces to the front of the new property with its own access. The bungalow will sit under a pitched roof with brown Mendip concrete tiles and it will have buff coloured facing brick walls and white UPVC double glazed windows and doors. To the rear of the property will also sit a bike shed and an area for waste bin storage.
The Site
This is a level site of approximately 200sq.m. It is mainly an allotment and sheds at present, but the site will be cleared by the current owners. There is an existing dropped kerb that will need to be extended a little for a vehicle access onto the plot and for the two parking spaces. A one metre footpath will be created along the east side boundary. A new 1.8m high close boarded fence will be placed along the rear boundary of the plot and also along the side boundaries to retain privacy.
The Area
Congresbury is large village with a population of around 3500 people, 13 miles south of Bristol City Centre and 7 miles east of Weston-Super-Mare. It has many amenities including shops, restaurants, country store, post office, butchers as well as a tennis club, cricket club and football club under the umbrella of the Recreation Club. The hamlet of Brinsea is home to Mendip Spring Country Club and Golf Course. The Millenium Green opened in 2000 next to the River Yeo and holds Wassail and music festivals for the village. The village also has several pubs and has a Grade 1 Listed Anglican Church. Nearby is Cadbury Garden Centre and a Marco Pierre White restaurant. Yatton railway station is an easy drive from the village and is on the main line to Bristol Temple Meads and London Paddington. The local primary school is rated as Good by Ofsted and Churchill Academy and Sixth Form is rated as Outstanding. Independent education is offered at Sidcot School, again within easy driving distance. Weston Super Mare is some 7 miles from the village, with all the major supermarkets including Waitrose and Sainsbury’s as well as the Sovereign Shopping Centre. Bristol has all the amenities of one of England’s major Cities.
