Sandown is a well know seaside town, with brilliant beaches, loads of fun things to do and is at the top of the UK sunshine leagues.
In terms of public transport, Sandown benefits from both bus and train services. The Island Line train services run to the neighbouring town of Shanklin and north to Ryde where they connect with passenger ferry services to Portsmouth. Bus services are also available, travelling north to Brading and Ryde, south to Shanklin and Ventnor and across the island to Godshill, Cowes and Newport. The Sandhopper bus service operates during the summer months which provides a vital link for passengers from the train station through to the town and the beach. Car parking is available immediately opposite the site. The High Street and town centre benefit from car parking accessed via St. John’s Road.
Sandown seafront has numerous cafes, bars and restaurants for a meal or a drink with a view, while the High Street houses several eateries for all tastes and even a pub with its own microbrewery.
