Lansdown is the most desirable suburb of Bath, extending northwards up the hill from the City Centre. The area has a golf club and the oldest cricket club in Somerset, founded in 1825. Bath racecourse was situated at the top of the hill but can now be found one mile to the west. Bath is one of England’s finest cities with leading Universities, a rich cultural history, stunning architecture and an excellent shopping centre with many varied and independent shops. The City Centre is also home to the Theatre Royal Bath and the world famous Roman Baths. The Jane Austen Centre is another tourist attraction and the City enjoys an all year round thriving tourist industry. The 57 acre Royal Victoria Park is just one of several parks in the City.
